The ‘tolerant’ Left targets Shapiro because he’s Jewish

The antisemitic, pro-Hamas wing of the Democrat party has become such a strong influence within the party that many are asking if Gov. Josh Shapiro would hurt Democrats as a VP contender because he’s Jewish and pro-Israel. Folks tied to the Democrat Socialist of America have even launched an anti-Shapiro website. Remember, Democrats paint themselves as the party of ‘tolerance’. The hate speech against Shapiro from the Left simply because he is Jewish—and the fact that it may become a factor in Kamala Harris’ VP search as Democrats seek to appease their antisemitic wing—is an alarming indication of where the Democrat party has allowed itself to be taken.

Antisemitic Dems aren’t the only ones opposing Shapiro

Anti-school choice groups are joining the call for Harris NOT to pick Shapiro as her running mate. They cite his supposed support of school vouchers. But truly, they shouldn’t worry about this, given Shapiro’s actual record of vetoing vouchers last year and then doing nothing to advance them this year.

Pa. turnpike booth savings plan won’t save drivers

The Center Square reports that even as the Pa. Turnpike is going “booth-less”—switching to overhead “open road tolling” (ORT)—and this will supposedly save money on infrastructure and maintenance, tolls for drivers are still going up, up, up. The story notes, “Earlier in July, turnpike commissioners approved a 5% toll increase due to ongoing debt repayments — annual increases are expected through ‘at least 2053,’ officials noted last year. “

Pa. students testify about growing antisemitism on campus

At a state Senate committee hearing yesterday, lawmakers heard from several Jewish college students who say they worry that the upcoming academic year may bring increased antisemitic harassment. Among other things, testifiers told of antisemitic protestors banging on the windows of Penn State’s Hillel building. Per the executive director of Penn State Hillel, “Banging on the windows of the center for Jewish students at Penn State was not an attempt to engage in dialogue or change policy. It was intended to isolate and frighten Jewish students.”
