Fetterman leaves Walter Reed, gives interview
On Friday, Sen. John Fetterman left Walter Reed National Military Medical Center following six weeks of inpatient treatment for clinical depression. A few days before leaving, he gave CBS News an interview (which aired Sunday morning). He spoke about his struggle with depression and how he feels moving forward.
DeSantis headlines Pa. leadership conference
Conservatives from across Pennsylvania gathered in Camp Hill on Friday and Saturday for the annual Pennsylvania Leadership Conference. Attendees heard from elected officials, influencers, and policy experts on topics ranging from preserving public safety and empowering parents to the problems of legalized recreational marijuana and how conservatives can play offense to win. Justice Dep’t sues Norfolk Southern
The AP reports that the U.S. Department of Justice sued Norfolk Southern on Thursday over the February 3 train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. The story notes that DOJ is “seeking to hold the company accountable for ‘unlawfully polluting the nation’s waterways and to ensure it pays the full cost of the environmental cleanup.’”
Report: Allegheny County loses 50K jobs in 5 years
The Post-Gazette reports that according to information gathered by Pittsburgh Works Together, Allegheny County has lost more than 50,000 jobs in the past five years. This is “five times more than any other county in Pennsylvania.” What’s more, “Allegheny County’s economy was the worst performing urban core county of any major metropolitan region in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
