Fetterman makes campaign appearance, but avoids talking with reporters
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Democrat U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman addressed hundreds of union members at a rally yesterday at United Steelworkers headquarters in Pittsburgh, but he took no questions from reporters who were there. This led rival Mehmet Oz to tweet, “John Fetterman held his second public campaign event and he took 0 questions. Pennsylvanians deserve answers.”
DA Krasner won’t comply with Pa. House subpoena
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has said he will not comply with a subpoena issued to his office by a House committee investigating him. Instead, Krasner said the investigation is “illegal” and “anti-democratic.” The investigation surrounds concerns over record homicides in Philly under Krasner’s watch, which many blame on his soft-on-crime approach. Here are Wolf’s plans as he nears term’s end
PennLive reports that as Gov. Wolf winds down his final term in office, “he’s not ready to throw in the towel on at least one final big proposal.” The story continues, “Wolf spoke about his continued desire to see the General Assembly approve his plan to distribute up to $2,000 grants to every Pennsylvania household making $80,000 or less a year.” The General Assembly, meanwhile, has no such intentions. And Senate Republican Spokeswoman Erica Clayton Wright stated, “The fact is Gov. Wolf abandoned this irrational idea during budget negotiations because it lacked commonsense.”
Hearings today on inflation, infrastructure
The House Republican Policy Committee will hold a hearing this morning at 10am on “Inflation and Agriculture: The Rising Cost of Food.” The hearing will be live-streamed here.
