Biden’s pardon triggers ridiculous request from Pa.

President Biden’s pardon of his son, Hunter, has some folks defending the president, many folks criticizing him, and one Democrat U.S. Rep. from Pa. opting for a more ridiculous response. Democrat Rep. Brendan Boyle of Philly has asked President Biden to issue a blanket pardon to anyone who may in the future be “unjustly” prosecuted by President-elect Trump’s pick for FBI director. I mean, is Boyle concerned for others? Is he concerned for himself?

Interview with AG-elect Dave Sunday

As he prepares to take office, incoming Attorney General Dave Sunday spoke with the Post-Gazette on multiple “high-profile issues.” Here is a sampling from the story: 1) On President-elect Trump’s plan to remove illegal immigrants from inside U.S. borders, “Sunday said he supported the deportation of ‘illegal criminal’ immigrants. ‘I certainly support that. I would hesitate to go any further because none of us — I don’t think anyone — has seen a plan or what that would actually look like,’ he said.” 2) “Asked about the president-elect’s intent to put a new tariff on China to stop the flow of deadly fentanyl into the U.S., Mr. Sunday said he welcomed any action that would curtail the flow of the drug.” 3) And on the use of artificial intelligence to scam seniors, “Mr. Sunday said he will make it a priority to protect seniors from technology-driven scams.”

GOP activist sets sights on Pa. Supreme Court

The Delaware Valley Journal reports that Scott Presler, who focused on early voting and voter registration in advance of the November elections, “now has a new target: the state Supreme Court.” With three Democrat justices up for retention votes next November, Presler hopes to convince Trump voters to come out and vote against retaining them.

Dem. state rep. announces candidacy for judge

Fresh off his re-election, Democrat state Rep. Dan Miller (Allegheny County) has announced his candidacy for Allegheny County judge. WESA reports that Miller’s interest in the seat “has been an open secret for some time.” If he wins, he would vacate his House seat and a special election would be held in the heavily Democrat district. (Miller won re-election with nearly 67% of the vote.)

Asian demand for LNG ‘expected to double by 2050’

The Delaware Valley Journal reports, “A new study shows the popularity of U.S.-based liquid natural gas (LNG) continues to rise, despite efforts by environmentalists and the Biden-Harris administration to promote unreliable renewable energy.” Particularly, the study “found LNG demand in Asia was expected to double by 2050.” Pennsylvania is “the second-highest exporter of natural gas to other states.” But, “That surge was threatened by the Biden-Harris administration last January when it enacted a temporary pause on new LNG exports and halted approvals of new export terminals,” (such as one proposed near Philadelphia). The story notes that over the summer, a judge granted a preliminary injunction, and Trump is expected to lift the pause.
