New swing states poll shows Pa. tie

Despite the Left’s newfound adoration for VP Kamala Harris, doused with gushing gratitude that she saved Democrats from a Biden nominee, a new swing states poll shows the race remains extremely tight. The poll, from Emerson College/The Hill, shows Trump and Harris are tied at 48% in Pa. Harris leads Trump 50%-47% in Michigan and 49%- 48% in both Georgia and Nevada. Meanwhile, Trump leads Harris 49%-48% in Wisconsin and North Carolina and 50% to 47% in Arizona. Every one of these numbers is within the survey’s margin of error.

Harris’ fracking flip-flop gets airtime

Yes, I know CNN pitched last night’s sit-down with VP Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz as an interview, but let’s be real. It was part interview, part puff piece. With Harris dodging the press for more than a month, Americans wanted to hear specifics about her policy positions, not a narrative of how Biden told her he was dropping out (complete with what the Harris family was having for breakfast at the time). Not surprisingly, there wasn’t a ton of policy insight that we learned last evening. But we did learn that Harris will avoid explaining her flip-flips on multiple issues, including fracking, which she emphasized that she won’t ban—after previously emphasizing that she will. Somehow, we are not convinced her latest position is her final one.

Pa. Dems recruited poll workers using false info

The Post-Gazette reports that the Republican National Committee recently sent a letter to the Pa. Department of State, noting that the “Pennsylvania Democratic Party is recruiting people — including potential out-of-state residents — to be poll watchers for the Nov. 5 election,” which violates state law. The Dems’ website recruitment info said, “Poll Observers must be physically present in PA for their shift, but do not necessarily have to be PA voters.” Yet, the Department of State indicates that per state law, poll watchers “must be a qualified registered elector of the county where the election district (polling place) is located for which the watcher is appointed.” After the Post-Gazette reported the issue, the Dems quietly changed their website wording — but they did not reply to requests for comment from the Post-Gazette.

3 mail-in ballot cases are still in Pa. court

At least three mail-in ballot cases that could impact November’s elections are still going through the state’s court system. Spotlight PA gives a run-down of the three, which touch on topics including provisional ballots, ballot errors, and the requirement that ballots be properly dated. (If you’re thinking this last topic has already been through the courts … well, you’d be right.)

Dems criticize McCormick campaign over tweet

Democrats are criticizing the McCormick campaign because of a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) in which the campaign mixed up Philadelphia, Mississippi with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A McCormick spokesperson responded with, “We made a mistake in our tweet, and that’s not nearly as bad as what Bob Casey did when he enabled illegal immigrant gang members to terrorize Americans because of his and Harris’s radical open border policies.”
